Free digital issues of Sailing Today

I got an email from the RYA offering three digital issues of Sailing Today. RYA membership number not equired, so I thought I would share:

I received the same email. Signed up by providing email address but so far have only received a marketing email offering to upgrade to the paper equivalent for a modest fee. That went straight in to junk mail. Pointless offering an upgrade when I've yet to receive the digital version.
I wonder if this is just in time for the Boat Show.

So, the first issue has arrived.

How come they can produce their magazine:

• As a PDF that I can store on my PC and archive where I want
• As a 32MB download, rather than the 500MB+ for YM/PBO

Just got my first free edition. Quick download, stored as PDF, slick process. Lessons could be learned.

So we are getting 3 digital editions free, rather than the usual model of "£1 as long as you set up a DD and remember to cancel the sub" ...not so very different.

I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but lets hope the content is better than the copy I last thumbed through in WHS. Just how many times has that mag changed hands?

I have picked up a couple of copies now this year and I am slowly being converted. They appear to be more wordy, less picture book and a bit more interesting than YW and PBO. If I find the next issues interesting I may continue to buy it in paper form, which I prefer.

How long is " Shortly" would have thought 12 hours was a very long shortly for a pdf to be sent!!

Got mine, looks good on my iPad but so much better on my desktop PC monitor.
Enjoyed reading it, and if next 2 issues are as readable will probably subscribe.

I subscribed at approx 4.30pm, received an order confirmation email at 5.30pm telling me the first issue will be arriving in my inbox shortly. Not heard anything since. How long is "shortly"?
