Were currently in Cherbourg and are heading south west to southern Brittany as Brits. As we have a dog with us we can't sail to the channel islands, having already being checked in to France and not being able to arrive into a UK territory with a dog on a private vessel.

This makes the next steps a bit awkward
We will head on round to Dielette in the morning but the question is where after that. Given we've been weathered off for the best part of two weeks, I'm favouring making some miles up and cutting straight through the channel islands to Treguier, about 73NM. We prefer to arrive in daylight and given the constraints of leaving Dielette owing to draught of 2m and needing to arrive on a slack ride in Treguier given tidal flow, I would appreciate any advice from anyone who may have done this or who has any other information to share.

Out ultimate destination is Gibraltar, hence the desire to make miles!

Have you considered Saint Quay Portrieux, from Dielette? Less scenic and less far west than Treguier. BUT:
1. All tides access
2. Plus there’s no need to get the tide ‘right’ off Les Heaux de Brehat (unlike for Treguier). It runs hard across the top there….
Would take the pressure off. Then hop round to Treguier. (Or Roscoff, if making westing is the priority). Thinking about arrival tides. With no worries about departure tides.
Went that route (actually out of Cartaret) when the CI’s were in Covid lockdown.

That's a very good shout, thank you very much for sharing. Had a look at the almanac and it's an hour less of a passage and as you say, excellent to get into regardless of tidal height. Merci Beaucoup!

Ah, so that will be Yewy. Shame they can’t accept you just not bringing him ashore. Good luck with your travels.

In the present run of weather I would move towards Roscoff sharpish.
Some of the possibilities are dodgy in northerlies and Treguier is a slog to get out from.
Absolutely, looks like we'll be in SQP for a few days and looking for a window to get round to Roscoff. Sunday is looking like our first opportunity. Thanks for your help!
