Now I hope this isn't against forum rules.........but if you are ever in the area (boat or car!) why not pop into Fox's Marina Yacht Club.
We are a small club and independant of Fox's Marina and yard (although Fox's do kindly provide our accommodation)
We have just spent a fair bit of money on the fit and finish of the bar and kitchen, and taken on a new caterer who will pick up from where Suzi left off. We organise fun events for yachts and want to welcome more visitors to our clubhouse. The club is primarily supported by members.
The new menu is on our temporary website here http://www.fmyc.org.uk with opening times.
We like to think the club is a nice friendly informal corner of the Orwell away from the hoi polloi of Ipswich yet only a 5 minute bus ride from the fleshpots of the town centre!
We have just hosted the Macwester Association for a meet (mid refurb!!) and have previously hosted the Jester racers for their annual meet.
The club is available for groups as a venue for hire.
Again, I hope this isn't against any advertising rules, but more as a shout out for one of the small independant RYA affiliated yacht clubs that needs support from the Orwell boating community.
