Mate of mine has just arrived at the Cove, just off Scilly he found a dinghy with outboard, unfortunately no name. If anyone knows or hears of anyone that might have lost it please let me know, along with details of make and engine, and I'll pass on his phone number.

The SY 'Somoya' is the loser they are now in St Mary's harbour and having problems getting ashore, obviously. Get in touch with the harbourmaster on 01720 422768 he is in contact with them.

Thanks Pete have sent him a text and I have phoned HM to let him know where my mate is. Let's hope it all ends well.

Yes apparently Samoya have picked up their dinghy, my mate Jeff say thanks for the bottle of rose and the jar of jam!!,

Surely a RIB , 3 life jackets and a 9.8 Tohatsu deserves a little more thanks? And that's me saying that, not the guy that recovered the RIB.

Surly it's doing the right thing that counts, not how much you get for doing it?

That Jeff is a bit of a star and has a rather beautiful boat too. Well done John, happy fishing too, possibly, regards Tim

Agreed. And it's not the monetary value it's the thought. And I'd say there's not too much thought or thanks in a bottle of rose and a jar of jam. But that's just me.

Well you just spoilt it. Most of us would have been happy with a handshake. I don't exact to profit from someones misfortune, a simple thank you is all I expect.

Now hang on Sevens,
I got my main anchor well and truly jammed under a rock last year on Scilly, in 10m which is beyond my cold water free diving ability by about 9.5m
Did all the usual tricks and then over rows Jeff,( it has to be the same, selfless Jeff), fully suited with dive gear, Longjohn there as well to assist, and two
minutes later , all sorted.
Timely providence and kindness amongst sailors, that's wot I say:)

All these chaps would take from me was a cup of coffee and then a beer. Trouble is, they bought me A beer too. That, my friend, is real cruising.

I'd have been happy with just the pot of jam, very partial to a bit of jam I is!:)

I'll have the jam if you don't want it :)

You've guessed right Tim. Unfortunately Jeff wasn't on board when said dinghy was collected by its owner so no actual communication between them.
