Following Haydn's death last year, I asked HenryF if would be willing to relinquish the production and supply of forum burgees. HenryF was happy to let me take the reigns and I have managed to find a supplier who can produce the burgees to a high quality and a good price.

In the process of finding a supplier I took the opportunity to re-sample the graphic and make it a little bigger and bolder than it was before. I hope Haydn would have approved.

I have also standardised on two sizes:

LARGE for bigger gin palaces / yachts: 35cm x 68cm @ £25 inc delivery
REGULAR for owners of more modest vessels: 22cm x 45cm @ £23 inc delivery

Needless to say, like my predecessors, I will take no profit and any surplus funds will go to charity.

The burgees are made from double sided royal blue canvas with the emblem embroidered into it. They are edged with yellow piping and have a black cord with wooden toggle. The cord looks pretty thick so shouldn't snap as some of the earlier ones have.

Here's some pics to whet your appetites...

People will be able to order them online and pay via PayPal. If anyone so wishes, payment by cheque or bank transfer is possible too.

If anyone would be interested in purchasing one, it would be handy to know what size you would like so that I can order accordingly (the first batch will be a run of 50).

Thanks to Henry and all who went before him for making previous batches and passing on the fund that will pay for the production of this batch.

Perhaps the graphics/embroidery would benefit by being moved closer to the hoist (cord)?

Less wind damage and easier to see the emblem as there will be less movement closer to the hoist when flown.

Just a thought.

Thanks - I had already feadback to the manufacturer that the emblem is a little high but will follow your advice and get it moved a little towards the hoist too.

Pete,

definitely need one, but the tender sized one plz, the large one is way larger than the Greek flag I run, would be plain silly!
Agree with Tradewinds comment as well as the embroidery probably needs to move 1 and a half cherry to the hoist and almost a cherry down...

cheers

V.

PS, or olive, not sure what the toothpicked thing is, never drink things with fruits or vegetables in them tbh

They look good Pete. I have one of the last batch in good nick so don't need a new one yet but good to know they will be available.

Very well done Pete, Haydn will be chuckling to himself.

No he wouldn't, He would be rollocking everyone from stem to stern
Then chuckling to himself
'Bloody Forum taint the same now tha nose'
I do miss the beggar but fair play petem, yes 'H' would / is probably chuckling!

Pete

Might it be a good idea to put a similar post up on the Scuttlebutt forum?

Thanks for volunteering for taking this on. :encouragement:

Kudos to you for taking it on and producing a burgee of which H would be proud. He'd still grumble about that new-fangled paypal, but that was part of the charm!
Credit to Henry for kicking it off too.
I'll have a smaller one for the Targa when you are ready.
Might I be so bold as to suggest a revival of the windscreen sticker idea too

Thanks, I'm happy to respect the original logo and design, but have to draw a line at his rather rudimentary ideas concerning selling the things!

Window stickers should be easy to sort out, I'll make some enquiries.
