How can I watch formula1 and maybe sometimes some other sports in English without a dish but with wifi.

There must be some way to see it.

Any ideas??

Yes it is possible. Apart from the obvious of finding a sports bar which is not brilliant for a 5 hour stint on Sky!!

I use my internet connection (available in most marinas). You will need to get a reasonable speed connection to the internet, how fast I am not sure but using your phone would be too slow and expensive. You then go to Filmon.com. Lots and lots of channels from all over the world, most Free to air channels from the UK. SD viewing is free, HD costs about £5 a month. I use SD without any problems.
Want a bigger screen? Connect the PC to a TV. No problem.
Now you will say that because of Bernie’s latest deal with Sky there is not much on the BBC. Do not worry you can get Sky Go from many places on the internet. Type in Sky abroad and you will see.

Cost about £6-12 a month. Works well.
:)

Thanks very much, that all looks perfect.

Just one question, on top of the 6.49 a month, is there also an extra subscription to sky itself?

Not sure. I use Skycards.eu, and have a full sky subscription, but recently recived a mail from them saying £10 a month just fo sky go and their set up service.

I could not quickly work out if the one you looked at for £6.49 included the sevice /set up charge. Or if you needed a sky subscription. Either way ask em. They will set up everything.

Could you tell me which channel and also, are you sure it works in foreign places?
Thanks John

I use it all the time in Spain and there is a list of channels on the left of the screen. If there is a channel it doesn't play, it's not one I'm interested in watching. Certainly shows all the UK terrestrials.

Thanks again for all the help.....not always.....but sometimes it all just comes together nicely with a perfect solution.... just like this time.

Do not need a proxy with Film On however not much F1.

All the companies that offer Sky Go abroad do it through their own proxy, which they administer together with a "sky account". Do not even think about asking sky if you can watch abroad. They will refer you to Sky germany, Itally etc. etc.

I had a proxy, (expat tv or somthing) worked well £5 a month. Could get all BBc etc . Pluss other benifits. However i discoved Filmon no need for a proxy, and now Sky Go for F1.

Watching the next GP in the Greek Ionian sunshine!!!

:):)
