Forecabin Sleeping arrangements

I liked the arrangement I saw in a Southerly 28, where the port and starboard forecabin berths were at different heights, overlapping at the bow.

Rules out playing footsie, but probably a better night's sleep. Does require quite a high deck (at least for a 28 footer) to fit it in, unless one berth is going to be at sole level.

In the past, when I have slept in the forecabin I have slept with feet towards the pointy end to play footsie with my wife and attempting not to lose the pillows off the end of the bed.

However looking at a number of boats in the 30-35ft range for sale, their adverts have put the pillows to the pointy bit of the bed.

Have we been sleeping the wrong way round all this time - is there a magic in sharing a pillow with your wife with loadsa room for your feet?

So, how do you orientate yourselves in your forecabin?

My bed in the two forecabin are 1,6 by 2 Meters. No question about Direktion.
