I am converting a Ford 1.6 Diesel (ex Fiesta) to a marine unit but am not sure what to do with the vacuum pump which is run off the Camshaft. If I simply remove the entire unit, the piston which is actuated by the camshaft will leave an oilway hole free and thus loose oil pressure,
Any thoughts?

I have converted several 1.8 ford engines. You remove the vacum pump, fit an adaptor on its two mountings and run a oil return pipe from the adaptor to the sump. The adaptor is certainly available from Lancing Matine and is called a "Blanking cover for vacuum pump aparture" it cost £22 + VAT in 2000.
