i have after lots of messing ,and giving up on the bloo/.9 thing got my Force outboard running (striped the carb and had it cleaned in a sonic bath} my friend who cleaned it put the carb back together and told me that the bowl may have been on the wrong way around (ill never know that now) and if it was that would stop the float from working properly, whatever it ran first pull . the carb also has a purg type bulb on the body of the outboard, it only has one pipe on it so i dont thinkt can be a purger as they usualy have two pipes one being from the fuel feed. the small nipple on the carb that it pushed on was loose ,someone in the past had epoxied it in but that hadnt worked .it was long enough for me to put a thread on it and cut a thread in the carb
, so its now scewed in with epoxy and will not leak any air .so the problem it now runs lovely but every thirty secons(about) it dies for a moment but then carries on running but it does it over and over .Any ideas .Thanks.Kieron

Not sure what type of outboard, size? Make? 2 or 4 stroke? Also, ultra sonic cleaning does not always get the carb clean as it needs to be. Give it a good wash with carb cleaner, poke out as many orifices and holes as you can with a length of stiff fishing line or soft metal that wont break off, then a good blow out with compressed air may give a better result. If we knew the outboard model, we could comment on the carb bowl being on the wrong way round. Is it a Mercury force 5hp?
