Follow-Up on Value My Dinghy

I can put the boat on a trailer on the waterside for about £150 a year. However it's a 50 mile each-way trip. My brother-in-law lives at Pooley Bridge so we are there fairly often.
It has to be said the weather is not as dependable in the Northern Lakes.

I have just got a place to keep a dingy at Fisherbeck for £100 a year and am looking forward to not having to put a wet inflatable in the boot every W/E.

We can always park at Waterhead for free and if we want facilities we go to Bownes/Ferry Nab.

I'll keep my eyes open for you and see if I can snap a pic or two with the sails up.

Pedro

I thought you might like to know that I was brought up with a Pedro. My dad had one. He used to tow it to the South of France each year, using it as a caravan on the way, and launch it at Port Grimaud. Hopefully I have attached a pic of it at Port Grimaud. However, my main memory of this vessel is at the North of Scotland. We were about 10 miles from Ullapool and a gale was forecast. Dad wanted to sail to Ullapool to get the boat out of the water. Anyway the gale came sooner than forecast and one of the shrouds parted company. It was on the leeward side fortunately. I think a pin had came out, but as a 14 year old trying, and achieving, to retrieve the shroud and strap it down safely while dad kept the wind on the right side was memorable. In fact when my poor dad was dying a few years ago I sat with him and he didn't respond to anything said to him except when I reminded him of this incident. He did try to respond. He obviously remembered.

Whoopee! I've finally been let in - and now I can alter my avatar and re-ask the question now hidden earlier in the thread.

@Lakesailor: May I use the images of your boat on the SeaHawk site? Any chance you'd want to assist in organising a meet of SeaHawks in the Lakes somewhere? (We did have an ex-owner based at Derwent Water who might help. I wonder if you now have his boat?) How many SeaHawks have you spotted in the Lakes?

@vara: I'd prefer it if you would remove that image from your Photobucket account and edit your message to point to the page on the SeaHawk site that includes the original photo, i.e. http://www.seahawk17.plus.com/boatshed/cabins.htm#hawkeye.

Dear Gregafloat

I was going to write a witty riposte to your demands, but frankly I can't be arsed.

So will "get knotted" do?

I thought it was a very politely expressed request for you to honour the picture's copyright. Any reason why you feel the need to be so offensive to a new member?

Especially as this thread was started by a professional picture taker.
