My boat cushions are not much good for sleeping on so I thinking of having some made cheaply, I hope, by a local shop. Can anyone recommend a suitable supplier of foam in NW England?

Foam for Comfort in Leeds do a good product but it is not cheap.
Website www.foamforcomfort.com
Lots of local markets have foam rubber stalls but from experience the extra cost
of good quality foam of the correct type pays off in the long run.
Foam for Comfort have a good advice line.

In Aberdeen we have a disabled workshop where the people make a remarkable number of things - some of which are upholstered.

They can cope with the odd "special project" and are an excellent source for good quality high density foam. Maybe you have one in your area!?

Be aware that with foam "you get what you pay for" and genuine Dunlopillo doesn't come cheap at the thickness required for a decent night's sleep!!

Best regards )

I can't remember who I used when I got the foam to replace the cushions in my Jag 25. I remember it was mail order and it wasn't cheap!! But worth spending the money to do it properly I decided. I measured it all out (like a jigsaw)before I ordered to make sure I ordered the minimum possible. One innovation by my mother was to cut a foam bed matress to size for the quarter berth. V.thick foam. Most comfy boat-kip ever!!!!!

Worth doing as really makes a difference to the old boaty.

Years ago my wife worked for a foam manufacturer. All of their off-specification product went to a local market trader. If you want the stuff that will collapse in a couple of years, buy it on the market. The good stuff is expensive but will last for many years.

You need to go to Holmes for Foam.
Come off the M6 at the Leyland Exit. From the South or the North Turn right.
Traffic Lights T Right.
Along about possibly half mile and T Right for Runshaw College. Cross the motorway and its on your right - immediately by the bridge.
Service Brilliant, competitive pricing, range of foams to choose from with hard/soft combinations.
Did mine last year
