Flying Azores to UK

I have been offered a chance of a passage ending in Azores, what are the preferred options for flying back?

I have found there are flights from Santa Maria Airport to Heathrow, just wondered if there are any other tips.

I agree - Via Lisbon is the best way. I suggest a direct flight to Lisbon, then a budget flight from Lisbon back to a convenient airport in the UK.

yeah, I know but I am already pushing my luck taking time off for Bermuda to Azores.

have a look at SATA.manchester/gatwick to san miguel.use the internet.we used cheap flights .com last year £170 single.make sure you search direct flights only.
santa maria lovely island but unlikely to have international flights. as far as i know everything feeds through san miguel

TAP from Horta to Lisbon, Easyjet from there. Make sure you allow plenty of time at Lisbon as there is an inter-terminal bus transfer. I did it the other way from Bristol) and EJ were 2 hours late so it all got a bit stressful but I made the connection with a few minutes to spare.

For what it's worth, my flight out (to sail back) was Heathrow - Porto - Ponta Delgada, with TAP, £180 this time last year.
