For those interested in visiting the Dutch Veerse meer via the Flushing-Middelburg-Veere route: changes in bridge timings, starting 1st April (!).
Abstract from a Dutch newspaper article: 'From April 1st till September 30th, pleasure craft can pass all five bridges on the Walcheren canal in less than one hour. Bridge timings are adjusted three times a day in tune with the speed of pleasure craft.'
'BLUE WAVE. This generates a Blue Wave. From Flushing as well as from Veere The Wave starts at 9:25 hrs, 12:25 hrs, 14:55 CET. Experiments last year did show there was no need to allow for this in the evening, so the midday transits were retained'.
Might be useful to someone.

If this happens it will be great news. The locals must have been complaining about erratic bridge operating. Last year it was very erratic, you were either rushed through on red and greens lights with the bridges still moving to open or you got stopped and waited 45mins plus.

Nobody including the local yachts seemed to know if you needed to roar along at max speed or just drift along.

It is nothing new, I used it twice last year
I have used it several times in the past few years & I even got in a convoy late one Sunday evening in 1972 -although I had to go flat out to keep up with the 20 plus craft going through. Forgot the obligatory guilder to the bridge keepers on the way through
