I'm thinking of flushing the raw water system what is best to use and what is the best method as I don't want to damage anything

There isn't much to flush. Raw water flows on my 2030B from the seacock through the gearbox to the impeller and from there direct to the heat exchanger and from there straight to the exhaust elbow. So there is only the heat exchanger to clean. Undo the large jubilee clips at either end, remove and clean (if necessary - mine was spotless after 15 years). You don't have any of that anode and annual cleaning schedule nonsense for the heat exchanger like a Beta. Only issue is getting the pipe stack the right side up on re-installation (it has 'UP' on it), positioning the stack equidistant in the housing and tightening the jubilee clips properly.

Not something I've ever done.
If you just want to squirt fresh water from a hose through it then you'll need to disconnect the heat exchanger rubber from the exhaust so you don't flood the engine. And remove the impeller so it will pass water
Or do you mean flush with antifreeze to winterise it? Most people run the engine and let it suck the mixture up from a bucket.

It was just in case there was a build up inside the system or to prevent it happening

No reason why there should be any build up except in the heat exchanger which won't be cleared by flushing. Not like a saltwater cooled engine where there is hot salt water in iron. Vulnerable point is the exhaust elbow where the salt water hits the hot exhaust gases, so ensuring the exhaust at this point is clear is more important than worrying about flow through the heat exchanger.
