At several previous boat shows I wandered around SC35's and SC38's in a thoughtful and dreamlike state, which turned rapidly into hopelessness when I was shown the price list with options. But prices of second-hand boats like SC35's have come down a bit recently, and there does come a time where you either have to take the plunge, or accept that it isn't going to happen. I tried the second option for a while, but then I had a work meeting in Leeds, and decided to stop off at Burton Waters in Lincoln on the way to have a quick look at a SC35 2010 brokerage boat that they had there.

One thing led to another, and this is the result: the purchase completed on Friday. There is a long list of minor things to sort out which will keep me busy for a few weekends, but nothing majorly wrong that myself or the surveyors could find. SS Arch with nav lights and horn is in the garage, and just needs to be reattached. Also, I'm not 100% sure, but I think the 2010 boats were the first ones to have the horizontal engine vents.

Many thanks to Volvo Paul for checking out the oily bits at short notice :)

Wow, she looks fantastic David. Many congratulations. When is she delivered?

Tuesday!
The other possible delivery date was Friday 13th.
Despite not being superstitious, it didn't seem appropriate to tempt fate when it comes to trucks, cranes, and boats.

I spent a couple of hours onboard today, but it doesn't feel like my boat yet. Hopefully that will change when I have completed some cleaning and fixing.

Good choice Dave!! And yes...I think you're right re the horizontal vents. Ours is 2009 and has the vertical ones. Ooh you're so gonna love the space and (dare I say it) the sea keeping. She looks sparkling. I'm dead chuffed for you.

:)

Thanks, those were my "make it look as good as possible" shots.
There is a second batch of shots for "everything that needs fixing" !

Great colour combo black HT frame + brown seating .
I Allways thought they were ahead of the curve with the SC 35 re hard top design on a 11M ish , Ideal for UK weather .-still looks up to date and with it today style wise .
Also it does look a minter in the pic,s , as others have said .

even as a raggie, I have to admire your choice. Looks 'sorted' and comfortable. May you have many happy sea miles together.

Great news David , I hope I didn't keep Burton waters too busy with my list of small faults .

Your list of small faults still needs resolving ... Please could I book you to visit Hayling asap anytime after Tuesday?
I'll clean up the outdrive tie bar, if that helps ;)
