Florida to Med wind routing ?

Not sure on websites, but the Atlantic Crossing Guide (OCC) has all the info you need on that.

As for VAT : if you´re looking to import something from the U.S. I heard that the best place to pay the VAT is the Azores. The rumour was that you can maybe come to an "agreement" with Portugees customs there and maybe pay less than the official 12% (? I think it was 12%).

try 15% nowadays

Did Miami, Bermuda, Azores, Gib a couple of years ago, early June. Doddle.

Top tips, take loads of fuel and an Iridium phone so someone reliable can text you the weather forecast. I use passageweather.com, brill. It was an Etap 39.

Doing it again end next May (45 foot something), etd depending on who gets into Champions League final!!

also

Has anyone got any good sites for wind routing for florida to gib , whats the favoured route and when etc

you may also consider these images, taken from a software called visual passage planner, they show average wind speed for the direct rhumb course for the months of april, may, june and july, end of may/june seems a good option, april is still reddish with gales and july colours suggest a lot of motoring if going by the rhumb line

VPP also gives the wind roses but at this level of zoom there are too many to be shown, I guess you know you may find north atlantic pilot charts directly at the NIMA web site
http://www.nga.mil/portal/site/maritime/
select Atlas of Pilot Charts then North Atlantic

but of course, climate is what you expect, weather is what you get
