floating winch handle arrived

If it is one of those that are made by Titan in Australia ..... I think the Gibb ones are .... then watch out, they break. Titans used to come with a 'life time" warranty. When I tried to replace mine I was told that it meant the winch handle's life not mine! .... and it was dead!!!!

Now you have your floating winch handle you need a large net or similar to pick it up with. You certainly can't pick em up with a boat hook. In fact I have found the only way to pick it up was with a hand. Either stretched over the side as you sail past or getting a crew to jump in the water and retrieve. I wonder if a large floating lanyard attached in a big loop might be pick up able with a boat hook.
Yes I have one and like the fact that it does not bang when you drop it on the deck. good luck olewill

and it might save a few deck dings when I drop it in the cockpit

I shall be very sad if it breaks
