Going to have a look at where my AV plate is and see if moving it up a hole would give me round where yours is. I take moving it up would prob need a stainless prop due to the cavitation?
Good idea of the Vaseline, going to smear some on mine too!
I was looking to update the wiring a little, did you put the battery in the box in the middle of the floor or just towards the middle under the back seat? And do you just have one battery or a dual set up? On overnights etc how does the single battery cope?
Mine has smart tabs which do seem to keep it pretty level regardless of who’s on either side, they are quite good though I purchased the boat with them fitted so hard to tell if they made much difference!
Ah. Yeah. Suppose the tabs would help.
The battery just moved to the centre of the same mounting area where it was originally. Under the hatch in bilge at rear, yeah. It’s been amazing to be fair. Hasn’t even showed the slightest hint of going flat. Running heating, stereo and others for hours and hours at the beach or in the evening.
Stainless prop helps for sure. But I also know that the standard k series white ally prop you are likely to have on your Yamaha…is a really great prop too. One of the best ally props there is, I think.
I was lucky enough to buy the boat after she had a more modern dash panel fitted, for the new gauges with the new engine. Looks really smart Or at least more modern than previously did.

Dash looks great! Hoping at some stage to dismantle a lot of the cockpit and cabin and modernise a bit!
Due a new battery too so gonna try a single marine dual purpose one, at least until I do all the bits and pieces inside, may need another battery again then.
Do you have any pics of your install?

I’ll get some for you, next time I’m at her. No probs. I’ll take some of the heater install location too, if you like.
Wee rare picture of her with the throttle open, on the smart craft ecu data gauges.

Yes sorry I meant of the heater install that would be great!
Haha flip me is that 46 knots?! What’s it like at that speed?!

Haha. No. I wish. Mph. I think it’s about as good as they get…unless you’ve got a huge 200v6 on her to overcome the hooks on the hull. It’s fine at that…but need some chop under the hull to break the friction really. Most days it will be a 43-44 mph boat, if you open it up. And 40/41 in any day of the year with anyone on board.
I might be at her later today. I’ll get some photos of the heater on

Checking my AV plate today and mine is actually quite a bit above the keel line I think! Did you find the pic of yours to compare against? Also were you able to get any pics of the heater install?
looked under the seats and have a substantial amount of water in there too? definitely need to sort this rub rail

Found some photos from when I lifted it and fitted the hydraulic steering too.
Forgive the filth and anti foul mess. Was an over winter effort !
Im going to maybe raise mine again I think. But likely being silly. She is what she is…and goes superbly for what it is, to be fair. So good on fuel too. Think I’m just used to the other two boats being silly quick things. Time I just accepted her for what she is. Haha.
Great wee thing I think. The new custom hood design made all the difference too. Original hood was just terrible. Much better now and more options for its form now. Usually have her with the spray hood and back off mostly.

Wet Cabin issues:
Here is what I did to mine to get a dry cabin.
1. The Hull Deck join - I noticed water coming in downstairs when going through heavy seas on the hull deck join.
The deck (top half of your boat) is joined to the bottom of your hull by screws located under the rub rail. I removed the rubber out of the rub rail you can then see a load of screws all the way round the boat. I remove a couple of meters at a time I then filled the gap between the two joints with silicon / stikaflex and screwed them back together. I did this all the way round the boat don’t remove all the screws at the same time or you will never get the top and bottom half back together again, just a couple of metres at a time.
Near the bow of the boat the curve is quite extreme which meant on mine the gap between the hull deck join was large in places. I then removed the trim half way up the inside of the cabin and where the carpet meets the vinyl and found the wood on the join to be rotten, I replaced as well as I could and then fibre glassed the hull deck join on the inside of the cabin over the new wood strip.

2. The Anchor locker – Water is wetting the wood the mirror is screwed to on the inside of the cabin.
On mine the drain hole for the anchor locker was too high. I drilled a hole on the other side of the bow in the anchor locker so that all the water can escape rather than sit there at a certain level.

3. The Deck hatch – The seal comes off on the hatch that’s fitted simply by opening and closing the hatch – bad design
You can’t get that Lemar hatch anymore but they make a slightly larger one. I brought this and had it fitted the new current design does not have the same design flaw as the original with the seal coming off when opening and closing. Mine was a 2001 boat.

4. The Windscreen seals – Water coming in under the windscreen between the cabin roof and lining.
The seals round the Taylor Made windshield glass / plastic shrink. You can either replace the seals by removing the glass / plastic windows or fill the shrinked bit with black silicone I experienced shrinkages with gaps over an inch! If you can remove the seal to check for holes. Under the seal I had two drill holes that had no screws in. Guess this was from factory. I put silicon in the holes and new screws. I also used marine filler on the inside of the hole.

5. Where the middle part of the windscreen opens the seal goes where it beads down on the top of the dashboard. I replaced the seal but water still came in under heavy rain which then runs down to the cabin door and if enough rain collects in the channels leaks down on top of your porta pottie. I used a strip of self-adhesive foam stuck to the deck underneath the bottom of the opening Windscreen this stop the water back flowing.
End result a dry cabin. The problem is the water would soak into the headlining then exit in the cabin in a completely different place to where it entered and only after the headlining foam had absorbed most of the water so the leak may not be apparent till a few days later.
My Boat would do 38mph with a Yamaha F100a and a Stainless Propeller, the 4.3 Mercury Inboards did 52mph.
Fuel wise I think is was approximately 1L of petrol per mile. I think the tank was 80L a normal mixed use 2 hour play would use about 25L of fuel.
Hope the above is helpful, here is a link to all the PDF files I have on the Fletchers and the brochure.

Hi Stewart
Is there any chance you could repost the link to any PDF files you have on the 19GTO. I can’t find any solid data anywhere.

Regards
Joe

Hi QBhoy, dragging up an old post here!!

I've got a 2009 19GTS, and you've got me thinking about a) a heater, and b) new hood.

Heater - where did you fit the heater, and where are the outlets, presumably in the cabin, but how/where? Is the fuel in a seperate locker or can it stay with the heater?

Hood - I agree that the original hood is shocking! No option of going out with just the roof up, it has to be all or nothing!!

Just to update on mine…now have baystar hydraulic steering. What a difference. Also raised the engine height too. She performs so well for what she is now. Just incredible on fuel too.
Diesel heater fitted, also makes things all the nicer up here. Great wee boat

QBhoy, I have the same boat and I love the Bimini cover you have . The old ones for mine are no longer any good . Where did you get that one ? I’m also contemplating putting hydraulic steering as the torque steer to the right is too much to constantly correct. Any issues fitting yours and what kit was it.
