Anyone have a link to it? Not seen the progress lately and want to bookmark it. Was a red one that needed a lot of work:)

Arrowbolt perhaps?

Hi Warpa,

I fear you might be referring to my Arrowbolt project? :o

http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=285958

If so, not much progress since last post - combination of work/time and cash-flow! I did some test 'exposure' of the stringers and they were saturated and decayed at the edges (mostly the bottom) so I've started to remove. Having cut away a 1' section forward of the rear bulkhead, they are actually still quite solid over perhaps 80-90% of the cross-section, but 8 weeks later still oozing water, so no regrets on decision to cut out.

Because of space limitations, I wanted to leave the engine and drive in place, replace the cabin/cuddy floor and then lift the engine forward into the cabin so I could strip and replace the stern floor section. Seemed like a plan, but got cold feet at the idea of 'joining' the longitudinal stringers at the rear bulkhead. Despite many assurances that this would be fine, I figured the extra effort would ultimately give me more peace of mind. Plan B is now to rig a scaffold frame and use a block and tackle to lift the engine, then lower it back down onto a platform over the boat. I can then remove the rest of the stringers and evaluate the transom - replacing if necessary. (Probable I think!)

I have removed the outdrive - unusually for a VP, it's an Alpha 1 gen 1 and that is currently sat in the garage as a rainy day job. although tired looking, inside/gearing/oil seems good/clean, so fairly relaxed on that aspect. Will strip down, paint and service ready for refitting.

Priority has switched in the last 3 weeks to the 14' as the SW Fletcher Rally is at the start of June and, being co-founder, I can't really not be ready! Thus last couple of weekends, I've cleaned & checked throughout and fitted chart-plotter. Awaiting a new throttle cable and wax/polish to do. This weekend was taken up grinding back trailer, repainting and fitting new keel rollers etc. Oh, and for some bizarre reason collecting a 'seized' 55hp Evinrude I picked up on eBay for £62 from Bideford... (As if I don't have enough to do ) If I can sort and do up, it will go great on the 14' in place of the current 30hp... Electronic gearshift too, which is a a new one on me for an outboard!

Will look to resume work on the Arrowbolt over Easter and update the thread too. Also hoping for an outing in the 14' but weather will dictate that!

A friend is bringing down a replacement trailer for the Arrowbolt when he comes down to the Fletcher rally, so I also need to get her supported on blocks/trestle and the old trailer removed. Thus far I have supported her stern, but working out a method to do the rest whereby I can still get stuff past in the limited space and extract the trailer. I'm pretty creative with that sort of task, so I'm sure something will get sorted over Easter holidays... :D

Looks like being a busy summer one way or another...
