We went to Bucklers Hard, I hadn’t been for a very long time. The showers are Magnificent! I was very impressed. Lovely spot and all that, but those amenities crikey I didn’t want to leave
And I was shocked by Gosport's prices!Dunno about Berthon, but Lymington Yacht Haven's facilities are pretty spectacular. Unfortunately, their prices are equally spectacular - we enquired a couple of years ago and, despite being used to Hamble prices, we were rather shocked!
Compared to the marinas in Poole or Lymington that will seem like a bargain!
On the subject of facilities - the piped music in Chi marina (Classic FM) is worthy of a mention.
Premier at Southsea plays radio 2. Different class of visitor I guess![]()

Mine was £48, 42' er plus leccy. We paid £35 for a night in Bucklers Hard. 34 foot boat. More than Shepherds, about £2 difference. I am learning about the Solent
Must be. Brighton's east jetty facilities have gone all classic fm since the upgrade along with chi and swanwick. Perhaps you have to be a well-to-do mail-reader with a mobo to truly appreciate the classiness of it though.
I never really got the point of Bucklers hard. The river is beautiful. The marina was an over-priced rickety test of berthing skills with rubbish facilities. Sounds like it may now be a rickety test of berthing skills with good facilities. I'll probably still stick to the buoys.
No music in the West Jetty facilities yesterday
But do the shower cubicles have centrally heated stone seats?
