We went to Bucklers Hard, I hadn’t been for a very long time. The showers are Magnificent! I was very impressed. Lovely spot and all that, but those amenities crikey I didn’t want to leave

Dunno about Berthon, but Lymington Yacht Haven's facilities are pretty spectacular. Unfortunately, their prices are equally spectacular - we enquired a couple of years ago and, despite being used to Hamble prices, we were rather shocked!

Different folks have different priorities I guess. Last night we had lovely hot showers in a warm clean environment - on board with views over the hills of Eigg and Rum, with Ardnamurchan light in the other direction.
Don’t feel tempted back to visit the Solent for its shower facilities :)

And I was shocked by Gosport's prices!

Yarmouth cost us £35, we don’t use shore power. Decent showers, Bucklers Hard still seems the best so far. The George Hotel, where I was treated to dinner, is rather nice but I got the impression a bit overpriced. Definitely better than the Master Builder though

Premier at Southsea plays radio 2. Different class of visitor I guess :)

Must be. Brighton's east jetty facilities have gone all classic fm since the upgrade along with chi and swanwick. Perhaps you have to be a well-to-do mail-reader with a mobo to truly appreciate the classiness of it though.

I never really got the point of Bucklers hard. The river is beautiful. The marina was an over-priced rickety test of berthing skills with rubbish facilities. Sounds like it may now be a rickety test of berthing skills with good facilities. I'll probably still stick to the buoys.

No music in the West Jetty facilities yesterday

Brighton marina YC is worth a visit if you don't fancy one of the chain eateries

They upgraded the east jetty facilities last year to be swanwick-like. They haven't got round to doing the west jetty. So visitors get the old ones and the scumbag liveaboards the nice ones. Maybe it's to take our minds off our keels being sunk in the mud a fair bit of the time

southwest prices at Sutton Harbour last year was £40 for a 10m boat.
Nice facilities but not at that price!
More at anchor now which keeps the cost down.

Master Builder was always dire in the bar.; the restaurant was OK, but nothing special and rather expensive (not that the bar was cheap). Buckler's hard is expensive and the showers were extra last time I was in. Beaulieu River is nice though. East Cowes is my favourite at the moment. Excellent toilet block, sensible birth cost, half decent pub.
