Flares

We have a pack of off-shore flares that are now out of date and I've been giving some thought to how to dispose of them. When they do go, I will replace with a few hand-held flares, but no rockets. We carry two official marine band vhf radios - one fixed and one hand-held - plus amateur band radios that could be used on the marine channels if necessary. I do fully realise that such use would violate the licence conditions but if I were sinking I would use anything capable of transmitting and argue the toss later!

If you are buying more flares, the place you are buying them from will generally dispose of the old ones for you.
