Flares in Poole Harbour

What flares would it be advisable to carry whilst inside Poole Harbour? Would an inshore kit be suffice?

You shouldn't even think of cruising Poole Harbour without the following safety equipment;

VHF - both handheld and installed
EPIRB
Automatic life raft
Radar
Kill cord (if required)
AIS



I think you will be fine with a life jacket, mobile phone, VHF and some common sense

Thanks for the reply. I wasnt thinking of only taking flares, just wondering if they were necessary!

He was right, but inflation means its now £50's !

Inside Poole harbour? Not essential but if you can afford and have space for a couple of red handhelds, by all means carry them. You shouldn't be criticised for doing so. A full inshore kit would probably be an unnecessary expense.
