Ah, typical. In my current boat-less state, that's one of the few days that I'll actually be out sailing and won't be anywhere near Maldon.

I told a few friends from our club, that they could leave their flares at my house & my friend had agreed to take them in
I said " Just put them in the canvas sack round the back of the house when you go past"
Little did I know that i would end up with something resembling a nuclear bomb sitting on my patio, that takes 2 of us to lift
Flares dating back to 1981 are in there
& I do not mean the ones I wore
