safer to pop the little captain over the side,

Wonder how many times this 'safe' peeing is the true reason raggies become MIAs , then the empty boats get found/hit in the dead of night and fingers get pointed at merchant shipping watch keeping practices

Yes, absolutely spot on. Although any manoeuvre on deck at night if you are sailing short / single handed without being clipped on is asking for trouble. Mind you its not just yachts, Captain Bob managed to do it from a motorboat.

One thing everyone is missing is that it is Illegal to expose yourself in public

No it isn't.

Exposing yourself at somebody with the intention of causing "alarm, harrassment or distress" is an offence, but simply being naked is not. Hundreds of people cycle naked through London every year (and a lesser number through Southampton and various other cities) to make that point.

You ought to count yourself lucky you weren't in the Med. Over there not only do many raggies sail stark b*****k naked but they think nothing of getting their todger out in a crowded anchorage and pissing into the sea yards from where other people are swimming. My observation is that these people are inevitably foreigners. If there's one reason for leaving the EU this would be it IMHO

Believe the official term for the unfortunate victims is not MIA but DFO

Unzipped or unbuttoned;) usually very p*ssed

Its obvious most contributors to this post have not experienced the joys of sharing anchorages or marinas with our nearest neighbours at home or trans manche.

They will get their floppy bits out, any time, anywhere, ashore or afloat. They just dont care. Must be a nation of kiddy molesters

Most Johnny Foreigners I have met almost inevitably live in foreign countries. ;)

Exactly the point I tried to make earlier in this thread, now if he was taking a dump using his guard rails as a seat and his richards were landing on your foredeck, you have a right to be offended.:D

if he was taking a dump using his guard rails as a seat

There was a picture in PBO some years ago of a bow rail that had been modified to include a carved wooden loo seat complete with flip-up lid.

Definitely one for the deserted anchorage though! The OP would have every right to moan if its owner deployed such a device in Lymington Marina :D

Ok Accepted if thats the situation.

I was thinking quiet dark anchorage 3-7 other boats where we sit on the flybridge in the evening with bubbly / G&T in the dark , just the daughter's music playing, when sat in the dark its surprising how your eyes adjust and how far our decorative blue lights illuminate other boats .

:D If that's your definition of "dark & lonely", it ain't mine. But you know that already. One great advantage of a twin keel yacht is that I can anchor in shallow water where MoBos with silly lights & loud music wouldn't dare. :D

I like to sup my my Al Fresco scotch, G&T, wine or Murphy's to the gentle sound of waves on the beach, flocks of waders settling for the night & the odd fox call from afar. I enjoy the light of the stars & the moon & find that silly lights obscure them & destroy my night vision.

Good job we aren't all the same or the marinas would be full every night. ;)
