fjord ms 33

Fjord ms33

Did you get a Fjord. I have hull #1, 1972 and I can not say enough good things about this boat. She has bin mine for 11 years.
Sailed her from the great lakes to Florida, with no problems. She motors very well with her big engine, and she sails and points well too. Very stable in rough seas. I have had her in 60mph winds and 15 foot waves and I am still here to talk about it. Regard Tom

For Oseberg, in case you don't have a copy already..... and for anybody else wondering what a Fjord 33 is like.

As with the thread on Scuttlebutt about funny boats with huge genoas and small mains (the Fjord 28 CS), I picked up this catalogue at Earls Court in January 1976.
The price of a new Fjord 33 then, with a Perkins 4-108 diesel, was GBP 21,426 ex Vat - Vat was 25% then, hence with Vat the price was GBP 26,783 - probably well over GBP 150,000 in today's money.

I know what you mean about prices - a Colvic Watson Veracity 35 cost £48,000 in 1977. By your calculation that makes it over a quarter of a million. Boat's are much more affordable now!

Not really - you would be pushed to buy a high quality 35 ft motorsailer for £250k new these days. Would not buy you a Nauticat 331, Regina 35, Sirus 35, Degero, Cromarty 36 etc.
