Fitting Up Supper 2014

We'll be there. Would prefer Swallowtail from a kids point of view..... It's a long walk back to the marina with tired kids! Thanks for organising.

Sorry, I overlooked that the £25k was the rateable value rather than the amount payable :o

If the Swallowtail can't accomodate us then I understand that Burnaham Sailing club can cater for visiting groups and is a shorter walk from the marina than the Royal Corinthian and may well cost few less pennies.

in 2010 (I think) I organised a dinner at the Crouch Yacht Club which was very good. Not too far from BYH either.

if we come on OL, we may have spare berth for anyone who needs somewhere to lay their head.

Though it is just as likely that I will come alone on Artemis (if she's fixed) and in that case, there will only be a spare berth for the utterly desperate.

Not sure of the etiquette here. Who does the invitations to first timers? We might be at byh that weekend and could make ourselves known. There could be berths available too and even a lift for beckenhamites to byh. I am not sure at this early stage.

The convention in the ECF is
1 there are no rules
2 if in doubt refer to rule 1!

So, for the supper, post on here that you are coming and maybe you will be asked to choose a menu in advance. (You have done that)

Turn up, and it will be pretty obvious which the ECF crowd are. We/they are a noisy friendly lot.

So start chatting, drinking, eating etc

I hope you enjoy it!

Aha, there are no invitations, there are no rules, there is no etiquette, no members, no committee you just say you want to come, and turn up. Everyone chats to teach other for around an hour before we sit down, there is no table plan. Lots of people turn up who have never met each other, it all works out well!

Look forward to seeing you, they are always very good fun......

Some of us try and maintain some sort of etiquette - well to start with! :p

I hadn't noticed that :p......I'm obviously not looking hard enough.

Looking forward to the guided tour of Alchemist.

I now have a willing(?) volunteer to cover my weekend, but as he's currently applying for a new job, I'd better hold fire on our attendance confirmations.
