Having consulted, considered, researched and analysed I have a proposal. Let's try and avoid laods of counter-proposals - I can't please all the people all the time.

As winter hasn't started yet I thought we would have it a bit later - give you all a chance to get fitted out. It would be nice not to sail there in hail as we did last year.

The date is 10th May and the venue is Burnham.
HW is 0934 so a nice early start for the Orwellites but ideal for their return trip. Fairly early start for the Raysand hoppers. Neap tides so nottoo bad for pushing the tide up the Crouch.

Discussions to be held with the Swallowtail at BYH and with the Royal Corinthian.

We'll wave as we head out on our two week Spring Cruise! (Unless it's blowing a hooly of course)

Burnham works for me but can we make it a fortnight earlier (26th April)? I don't really want to lose two days off the start of a fortnight where we're aiming to get well up the East Coast

There are others who can't make the 26th April. I'm not making choices - I'm volunteering to organise it and that's the date.

Anyway if you are waving then it's only one tide you'll miss in return for all that splendid company :encouragement:

We shall be delighted to accept..... 10th May does for us anyway, sorry that Mr & Mrs Erbas won't be able to come.

Have you ordered some weather?

Would love to attend, but my better half has the big 5-0 birthday on same day, and unfortunately we have other plans already arranged.

Have fun all.

Gitane

We are hoping to be off northeastwards by then, but if circumstances, or the weather, gets in the way, we'll come along. I'll confirm or deny later on, if that's ok.

Roger
Thanks for kicking this off and volunteering to sort it.
I am afraid I will have to miss it as I am booked to do the Stage Lighting etc for a Ballet school that weekend.
Hope you all enjoy the do.

Sounds good to me. Looking forward to getting some water flowing past the keel.

Any idea what time sunrise will be on the Saturday? Probably set off from Pin Mill at first light so may have to use the 24 horses up the Crouch.

If anyone wants to join me for the sail I am sure I will have a spare bunk

PS Even if the echo sounder is dodgy, the heating works!

05.17 BST.

We/I will be there. Maybe 1,2,3,4 or 5 of us. Will come in big boat or small boat, or by car, or on foot. All variables to be sorted near the time. :-)

(we could do it in one push from London but really it's an overnighter, so needs holidays booking - it would be the same for us wherever it's held).

That's a shame, I have already committed to helping on a scout camp that weekend. Was looking forward to another attempt on the North Sea, and it might have been a bit warmer in May too.
