I am planning on fitting a Simrad tillerpilot to our Hunter Duette but the tiller pilot length is to short to reach the coaming. Has anyone fiited a tillerpilot to a Duette and if so how did they get round this? Extend the ram?

Any suggestions greatly recieved.

Cheers Keiron

Yup

I drilled a hole in seat and put in brass insert but you can buy from simrad or ray marine extension peice whic screws into coaming

The Autohelm equivalent has extension pieces to the ram - assume the Simrad does as well. You could also try mounting the pilot on the cockpit seat with an arm under the tiller to take the pin. Again there should be a kit for this.

On my Hunter Horizon The Raytheon autohelm 1000 has a 100mm extension, the end cap is unscrewed, the extension added and then the cap refitted I am sure that Simrad must do the same.

Or extension pieces that screw into existing arm.
