Fit-up Supper - Fox's - 9th April

Why is this being called a "Fit up" supper. I always thought it was "Fit out". To me a fit up is the same as a stitch up, or con trick

Mmmmm, you probably haven't been to one of the fit up suppers where Full Circle presents "ECF awards"."Fit up" is very apt!

Sorry, we have a family do, so we can't come to be fit up this time.

I would always say "Lay up" as in lay up on shore

It's a running joke David. It's been running for at least five years! Everyone else has a fitting out supper and a laying up supper, the ECF has a fitting up supper and a laying down supper

The names are not entirely inappropriate either! :D

Depending on how things pan out, I may or may not be able to make the Fitting Up supper after all and if I make it I may or may not be arriving on any one of three different boats!

From that you may rightly deduce that we've made an offer subject to survey and sea trial on a bigger boat!

Pop over to svpagan.blogspot.co.uk if you're interested in the details :)

Update ...

Sorry to be so vague but there's a distinct possibility that we will make it and on a new bigger boat with three not two crew! (If all goes well on the survey and sea trial, we're planning on fetching the new boat back from Port Hamble that week and we might as well head straight for Ipswich as waste a whole day taking her up to Fambridge and bringing one of the other vessels in the fleet back downriver again!)

So provisionally and I'll confirm or otherwise as soon as possible ...

Yes, well spotted Roger, it is the same menu, possibly only an issue if you are going to both, or an opportunity to try something else.

Sorry, yes Clive choices advised ahead please.

Usual drill

Forum name, and numbers of starter, main, and dessert.

Thanks

I am definitely coming and probably marc is too. We are staying in a different hotel up the road.
However, I can't confirm food for another few days as we seem to be suffering food poisoning and can't even read the menu without feeling ill!
