Was looking into going over to the Hamble to get some work done on our Ocean 37, the builders here are really busy, and a good few of them don't like to touch GRP, they are geared up for steel boats rather than plastic fantastic ones, quoting November 25 before slots are available to get some painting done.
It's around 234nm from where the boat is laying to the entrance of the Hamble according to Navionics.

That’s be a nice trip. Once you have confidence in the boat! Three days probably for comfort.

Strangely it was the wife that suggested it, and she has been very much down on going out to sea in the boat.
We have been contacting paint shops here in Belgium and in Holland and getting no joy, so Mrs Catt says try the UK and see, so we have some quotes and time scales that will work for us, and the prices were around what we thought.
Not detailed any plans yet, just a rough estimate in what it will take. Then there is the option to take the boat up the west coast to the Clyde once the work is done but that is for later.

Last weekend it was blowing a force 7 in the haven where we were and the boat was very stable in it, watching the 45ft yacht that was moored on the other side of the pontoon from us and how much it heeled over with the wind, the skipper was out putting extra lines on to try and control the heeling, we hardly moved as we were stern on to the wind, gave quite a boost to Mrs. Catt's confidence :) Then I had to explain to her about fetch and how where we were was fairly sheltered and the wind had no distance to get any waves up.
