First time haul out questions?

I was going to start a thread to ask how many people start anti-fouling from the bottom. This is the first year (in 30+) where I started at the bottom and the first year (in 30+) that I haven't got A/F in my hair..

Wish someone had mentioned this before!
Know any good rock concerts I will not look out of place with blue hair?

I would check the level again as it takes a while to settle.

Thanks NDH, you are right.. had to check it two days running. Luckily there is a waiting pontoon next to the lift out. We went on there and I checked again the following morning and added more oil.

Thanks Cohel but yes, I don't have one.
I found with all the fluids I changed at the service time the boat is best run up to temp and with prop use in forward and reverse. When the engine has settled again they needed a little top up but not much.
The French were very professional lifting the boat in and out checking where everything was first, even the speed inpella I removed.
At put back in time they left the boat in the sling for 30 mins so we could do under the keel and where the pads had been. We even got charged a lot less than originally quoted, 375 euro for the biggest crane in and out over 2 days for a boat over 15 tons. They even extended the time we were supposed to go back from 3 until 5 as the leg oil change took longer than expected. When we were put back in they had a draw bridge affair so we could walk up steps directly onto the side of the boat and physically held her steady whilst the strops dropped low enough. They did all this with a smile. We had two nights free on the waiting pontoon for the haul out.
All round a very good experience and I leant so much.
I hope it has helped others as well.
