to RogerRoger and Kim for having raised on this forum a question on a non-sailing topic (copyright), which was removed from this forum with most impressive promptness. I must admit that I had not realised that Scuttlebutt was limited only to directly sailing stuff.

But more to the point, what is the best way to remove those little brown marks on a bronze propellor that are left after a few hours polishing with Autosol metal polish? I'm bored with all this polishing. All tips gratefully received.

Guess you're right - to the purist a propeller is not sailing related either.

Why use Autosol, are you a masochist?? I'd use wet and dry, a coarser grase to start with and trhen finish with a fine grade. Any marks left would just have to stay there, no one's going to see them!!

As before, get it clean with coarse then fine wt n dry and the polish with Autosol. Did mine earlier this year with Autosol & a power polisher and it came up as good as a mirror - excellent. Will just have to see if it keeps the barnacles at bay.
