Slightly off the topic!

A few years back was in Menorca near Mahon watching a firework display in one of the calas, it was a great evening. As is the norm in they parts H&S does not exist and the cala was full of small boats all enjoying the display.

The highlight of the evening was a rogue firework landed in one of the open boats, the occupants tried to throw overboard but then decided the best option was to abandon ship and just in the nick of time for as the firework exploded it took out fuel tank. It was probably the loudest bang of the night. Everyone was rescued safely.

Not quite as cataclysmic, but entertaining. New Years Eve in Naples. A big rocket had been propped up at a shallow angle against a railing on the promenade. When it took off it went below horizontal, and bounced across the sea surface. Must have had six or seven ricochets before it did the stars thing.

Elfin safety, fireworks and Naples are mutually exclusive concepts.
