Insurance Job maybe , pure speculation OFC , But not unheard off , or a spurned partner getting their revenge of a cheating Husband , or spending to much time at the boat , anyways hope they are insured but odd one boat was targeted only , (Putting my detectives hat on ?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️)
 
Foolishly and wilfully provocative speculation. Does your intervention contribute in any way to resolving what has happened or offer support to a (probably) distressed boat owner ?

Mere garden fence idle chatter without the excuse of even being slightly humorous. You are out on a limb on this one.

I got to the foot of a climb and tipped out my climbing rope from my rucksack only to find it was cut up into 6ft lengths by my estranged wife! If I had a boat at that time I think it would have been full of drill holes.

Hello my fellow stalker how are you this morning, Not unusual for things to be set on fire for insurance purposes , why not a boat, yes speculation so is everything else on here , I really have no sympathy , as Im aspie , also I do not know the person , and to be honest people are dying , right now so my thoughts more their than this boat,
It is an animate object it has no value to life, so go away and get some humorous bones :love:

If someone destroyed my boat by setting it alight and I was to read a few days later someone speculating on here that I’d done it for insurance purposes I’d be not only mightily pissed off, but also looking for an abject apology. If that was not forthcoming, then I’d consider taking legal action.
 
Wasn't there a case a few years back where local youths had been using a boat in a yard as a hideway for pot smoking and set in on fire, either accidentally or deliberately to hide evidence?

My heart goes out to the owner in this case. What a particularly rotten time for something like this to happen.

Legal action for what , no one has been named , speculation is allowed, they would waste their money on libel which could go to repairing their boat, and if you read the post carefully you would see the words pure speculation , so please get some perspective and stop jumping on something that is not there ,
I lived a different life maybe from some on here ,but I can assure you that fire and insurance claims are very real and very active, on all sorts of property with insurance, this may or may not be the case, who knows , as it was pure speculation !!! and another option to discuss like solar panels , batteries , pot smoking teenagers etc , never heard of libel for speculation and no names ridiculous statement! ,and if the owner is upset that we on a private forum are upset discussing their boat, maybe the OP should not have posted it in the first place ,

The forum ISN'T private - it is visible to anyone who cares to look; you don't need to be logged in to read the posts here. And Google happens to use it as one of its preferred sources for queries relevant to yachting, so it is highly likely that someone who knows the owner might see it.

I did not post the link and speculation is allowed on this forum if any rules have been broken then the Mods need to delete it , if we read carefully on my first post, I speculated on something ,I had sympathy for the owner, I moved on , it seems others have some issues with not reading correctly ,

No problems sorry overreaction(y) , from previous posters, clearly part of my post was a Joke and part pure crazy speculation , which is founded in no facts what so ever on my part , but my trolls like to follow me around to keep pointing out my failings as a human ho hum ,lockdown day 44 and slowly going crazy :eek:

I can read correctly. But it’s not my boat that was set alight so I have no personal interest in what you say about it.

What I don’t like on these forums is allegations, inferences, insults or whatever against a person who has no chance of replying. That’s me done on this thread.

Sorry you cannot understand a tiny bit of humour for an inanimate object. made from plastic , there was no allegation no inferences and especially no insults it seems that you are doing all them to me , strange that , facts are very important in liable laws in which you through about as if it was some newspaper trial get them right before coming on here and insulting others, and you point of scuttling away not to read a reply, once you have insulted someone shows the person you are ,
 
Anyone that suggested in writing in a place that could be seen by the public - even in joke - that I had caused a fire to claim on my insurance would be getting a letter from my solicitors demanding an apology at least as prominent as the original allegation, and failing that, legal action. It's plainly libellous, unless it is true.

I'm not saying this in the hope of getting a response. Just pointing it out.

I will say it again before any more stupid comments, read the liable laws , and seriously get a life , you are reading something that is not there , liable
A, needs to have a persons name I can not liable a boat it is an inanimate object, ?????
B, the person saying such liable needs someone to liable like a name ?????
C, The person doing the liable needs to be recognised , not an avatar !!!!!
D, there is a term in this country called freedom to express ones thoughts and free speech
, the assumption that a person can say allegedly or in my opinion or PURE SPECULATION OFC is covered in liable and is an opinion not a fact or an accusation , so move on please those that are looking for something that is clearly not there , I have never seen such paranoid and outrageously stupid comments as those that like to fly their lawyer card about , your lawyer as all ,will take your money and laugh.
Does one wonder how a newspaper can say allegedly, or a comedy program or a magazine, do you understand the meaning of Speculation ,allegedly, may have, the law is very clear this is why we have free Speech in this country, if you like lawyers may I Suggest you move to the US and litigate away , , and outwith that it was a mild Joke , if its not in your taste do not read it and do not comment
