Fire Extinguisher servicing

Any recommendations out there for Ipswich area fire safety inspections. I have three on board due a service, including an engine compartment on a temp sensor.

Why not look at the website of the manufacturer of your extinguishers? You'll find contact details there. Phone or email them and ask them who they'd recommend.

Most extinguishers are not worth servicing. It costs as much or even more than replacement. The engine room one may be the exception, so start with manufacturer or supplier,

I think you'll find that Firetrace are manufacturers of a particular type of fire detection equipment for initiating extinguisher operation automatically. For extinguisher maintenance, try Coastal Fire on Foxhall Road, or any other result from searching "fire extinguishers Ipswich" on Google.

I'll tell my firetrace extinguishers that they don't exist, next time I'm on the boat then. and then ring firetrace again and ask why they agreed to come and service them !

Any BAFE SP203 certified fire safety company can inspect and certify your equipment rather than paying the marine markup.

I just had mine done by the guy that comes to do the office ones he didn't even charge me as I removed them from the boat and took to the office, obviously if you have a big hard plumbed system that's more difficult but most marina's have towns near by and there will almost certainly be at least 1 fire safety registered company in that town.

Sorry Fred. I clearly thought wrong in basing my understanding on how that company started out many years ago. They still make and sell the original detection system but have clearly expanded into other associated areas.
