There's a boat in our yard owned by a 90+ year old which hasn't been in the water for a few years. Has it any value, or will the club be left to get rid of it when the eventual happens?

Good strongly built sailboats back in their day, but probably dated and well past its sell by date by now.

I don't understand the 'would have to be free to a good home'. These are handsome, capable (ie tough) yachts designed by Angus Primrose. Sure, they are old now and there aren't many about but, IMO, that does not reduce them to a giveaway status. I would expect them to have some value when it comes to a sale.

Prone to rampant osmosis, deck joint and window leaks and rusty fuel tanks. Likely ready for engine overhaul or even replacement
Along with interior refit, electrical work and instrument upgrades. Do the maths.
On the other hand, it may be absolutely pristine and ready to splash and sail !!!
