Our sixth transit of these waters -- departing Helsinki or Tallinn August 1 and arriving in the Solent sometime towards the end of August. This is a full transit of the Baltic Sea and North Sea, about 1500 miles, so a great opportunity to see a whole lot of these waters.

This is a "long distance cruise" -- a formula we have finally perfected, I think. We'll spend a week somewhere just enjoying an area, then a few days at sea making miles, then four or five days cruising lazily, then repeat, planning as we go according to wind and weather.

The route will depend on the wind, but we usually cruise the East and South coasts of Sweden on the way, then Kiel Canal, Helgoland, and either nonstop to the UK from there, or cruise the North Sea coasts of Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France. Estonia is always lovely, and we might try to see some of Latvia, Lithuania and Poland this year if the wind serves.

There are three of us so far but we could use one or two more competent sailors for a pleasant watch rotation on passage. The boat is a comfortable, fast, strong Moody 54 with new carbon laminate sails.

PM for further details.
