After a much needed break in the weather i got to do one side of the boat which had been wet sanded. Im still not entirely happy with the results and will try to get some better pics in better daylight (was getting dark)
I used 3M pads with 3M perfect it polishes, maybe this is the best i can hope to achieve on 1997 gelcoat
Had to start with 1500 to remove the 'honeycombe' effect.
Flattened down to 2000
I tried the lighter cut at 1st but it didnt remove all the sanding marks, went for the fast cut on the green pad (not easy to control with a rotary)
One side of the boat done in fast cut, time to work my way back down with the 1st glaze.
ther shine is there, but...
Not the best light pic, as you can see there is little correction left to do, maybe this is an inherent feature of glecoat and on this boat its as good as it gets
