Ahoy everyone. I have a 30’ fin keel Golden Shamrock and some of the way around where the keel meets the hull, there’s some silicone/mastic/poly sulphide type stuff. It’s starting to go a bit powdery and you can dig your finger nail in it, so I thought I’d clean it out and reseal it.
I’ve read several posts about what you’re supposed to put in the gap between the hull and I’m veering to go to the stuff that’s got a bit of flex in it, as if I used stuff that sets hard, any flexation will result in it breaking and peeling out. I’ve read so much, I can’t decide what to go for.
The keel is secure and has no need to come off, but I really want to reseat the outer most edge.
Please help me!
Many thanks l
