festoon bulbs with \"loops\" on?

A freinds boat has some lamps to light the sidedecks, that use a bublb similar to a 10W festoon lamp, but with a metal loop on each end which hooks over the terminals, pulling them together rather than pushing them apart as a normal fitting would.

Never seen them before, & may be cheaper to renew housings than buy odd bulbs.....but does anyone know where to buy them?.

Thanks

Andy

Never seen this arrangement before - can't see anything like you describe in any of my numerous catalogues.

G,day Andy,

Never even heard of this type, but you can solder a standard festoon globe in place, I solder all mine, never a problem, have blown one globe in 12 yrs

Thanks Tom & Old Salt.......when they blow, soldering seems the only way to go!
