Ferry Boat Inn , Felixstowe

What is the beach like there for landing a dinghy mudwise? I'd like to stop sometime but have a habit of not leaving a pub till kicked out so own dinghy is the only option.
I assume moorings are easy enough to pickup there?
I used to land on the small beach away from the slipway (which is pretty muddy), you can see about 20 tenders stored on the beach. Normally plenty of free moorings but if you are going ashore its worth checking with John White the harbourmaster.

If you don't know it then be aware that there is a bit of a tidal flow to consider too.... moorings from the boatyard upriver

Just a knot or four. I remember sitting on our boat watching a day-boat trying to pick up a mooring under sail. They had obviously read the manual telling them to approach upwind when under sail but had not got as far as the next chapter qualifying that by adding that it might be necessary to approach up-tide. They had about six goes before working this out for themselves.
