Fender Step.

It seems like a fender step is a useful thing to have as a step, fenders are good for fendering.

The fender ladder is more fragile and doesn't last as long.

Folk with smaller boats (with no room to store a special fender) like the idea that they can step into the cockpit directly, but don't mention that they have to 'coz if they climb aboard at the shrouds onto the side deck the kettle falls off the stove

SWMBO has two of the triangular ones, one for each side... They can do both the job of step and fender, just not at the same time. When Gladys is moored on a pontoon, the step is in just the right place to broaden the main fender bearing area... However, it gives me the shivers to think of the step being used at pontoon height and a miscalculation resulting in a damaged foot for the person taking the lines ashore

I imported this one from the UK while we were living aboard our Moody 40 in Portugal, great piece of kit, I think the design is to allow sufficient load bearing surface.
