hello,in the march edition of PBO there is a glowing report of the above product and also of a possible place to purchase it at the "low"price of £131.80 for the MULTIMASTER TOP kit.interested, i went online to the suggested retailer but was surprised to see the price had risen to £134.80 EXCL.VAT AND P&P.the total cost was then £166.03.
PBO what should the correct price be?

Correct price...

Like everything else in this world, there isn't a "correct price"! PBO quoted the ex VAT recommended price. You should be able to get one for around £160 inc VAT and delivery.

Try www.axminster.co.uk - have not their checked current price, but it is a superb piece of kit. No connection, just a very satisfied owner. It is invaluable for so many jobs. Regards.

I bought mine from Axminster, during some kind of "open day" at their Kent showroom few years ago. They had a man from Fein demonstrating and were offering the machines at a a disount. A really useful tool - highly recommended!

You wern't quick enough. I bought one on the back of the PBO article at £131.80 ex VAT. I think PBO should have quoted the incl VAT price though, however I still think it's worth every penny, superb bit of kit.

There great make sure you buy the variable speed model plenty of grunt , you can make your own sanding pads if you need odd shapes as well and just use velcro third sheet pads and cut to shapeI paid $340 AU for a bigger kit then the one PBO 3 years ago

Have you also found a way to make or repair the black, triangular backing pads? I find these things soon wear at the corners and then they won't grip the paper properly.

Axminster power tools sell them for around £160...I bought one back in the summer and I reckon it'll do most jobs I need to do on the boat...again no connection just impressed with the machine...Iain
