Back in the 70s I worked for a big marine equipment supplier and we had stuff on a lot of Hull trawlers and some of the stories I got from our service engineers were rather hair raising. The real truth is that a lot of seafarers like a drink and sometimes take one or two to many when they shouldn't. Mind you normal mortals never drive when pissed or even walk home pissed.
