FB 6

On a spring tide, on the fastest falling part of the ebb, they can only spend a few minutes at the bank before they become stuck. So every few minutes they might have to stop loading/unloading and pull the FB back into deeper water. They did have to do this with the old FB, but they rarely seemed to get stuck.
 
Hawkers / BAe apprentices used to hold their own award ceremony after the official one at Kingston, including ' P**** of the year ' with a suitable trophy - lets just say steel wool sprayed gold was involved, on a wooden plinth - I hope whoever signed off on this Chromium Plated Cockup gets something similar and has to stand in the corner with a pointy hat at the Christmas do. :rolleyes:

I saw the old FB5 in Portsmouth on Sunday, looking exactly like a rescue dog / cat needing a good home.
