Has anyone visited/overnighted (by water/mud obviously) Faversham this year? ECP says that “Front Brents Jetty is back in use after repairs (Nov ‘22)” but elsewhere I’ve read that it’s not available to visitors. If so that leaves the Town Quay (presumably requires a fender board, as would the Jetty?) or Iron Wharf Boatyard I guess?

AFAIK the Brents jetty is not available for visitor use, at least it wasn't this time last year, and recently pontoons have been added for the dry storage of local dinghies. Not much water at Town Quay (1.5m at the top of springs?) and plagued by visiting ribs & jetskis every weekend. Iron Wharf is probably your best bet, but probably means rafting up and the gradient is quite steep so pick your spot carefully.

Urgh, ribs and jet skis…that’s very sad. Steep slope not good as we sit on bilge keels. Maybe we’ll stick to what we’ve done in the past and go to Conyer, then walk across the fields to Teynham station and get the train into Faversham.

Faversham.
An absolute jewel of a destination on the entire East Coast.
Beats the pants off all the other popular honey pots on the Suffolk wastelands and no long slow fight against a biting August North Easterly past the boring Essex coastline.

A delightful back water place full of history and more "proper" pubs than you can shake a boathook at, all within staggering distance of the creek.
Nobody ever bothered to do much with Faversham simply because it was never on the road to anywhere much.
What a wasted opportunity ( perhaps by design).
Town Wharf, a few years ago, the wharf has silted up considerably since this picture was taken due to the mud no longer being flushed away after the lock gates were removed.
Internecine rows between Peel Ports and KCC have probably not helped.
As a idle retired Gin Palace owner would love to squander some of the kids inheritance round there .........but I do need somewhere to moor on arrival.

Go in early it helps to find the gutway.

Do know somebody who has spent large amounts of dosh buying a very nice new house down there after moving out of London and absolutely adores the place, this followed shortly after by a conversation with long term resident whinging mightly about the incomers and how " they" have destroyed the place and Faversham has gone to hell in a handcart.

A recent visit to "Stickyspoons" did reflect this unfortunately.
Are the still arguing about the bridge and lockgates ?

That was news to me about Front Brents jetty, I understand it was available again since it was rebuilt.
However I've talked with people at the Town Council today and can confirm that 'at the moment' (quote) visitor moorings there are not available. Quite why that should be I don't know, it certainly wasn't full last time I looked.
Town Quay is certainly usable, not looked at LW recently so can't comment on depth.

Everything Oldgit says about the town is true but this is a pic I took 2 years ago for another thread (search Faversham at neaps) and it's worse now. https://forums.ybw.com/attachments/20210626_202527-jpg.117918/
Yep that reflects the current situation.
Well remember the boat moving about around midnight @ what should have been LW.
The torrent released when the lock gate sluices were opened was impressive to say the least and certainly flushed the silt out of the creek.
It soon settled down, so went back to bed.
