Faulty 8HP two stroke

Well Iv got my outboard back and so far it appears back to normal ,The guy told me he'd cleaned the carb in his workshop ,Im hoping that's the end of the problem ! It did cut out once but restarted ................Will see how it goes .Thanks again for the helpful input ,much appreciated -

Hi ostra, an old post of yours I found. I have exactly the same problem as you had. Just bought the engine, had been idle for a bit. Did that carb clean finally fix the problem?

I had a similar issue once which turned out to be the pick up pipe inside the tank gone hard and cracked letting air in.

And I had similar issues which turned out to be crank case oil seal.
