Fatality in Cardiff Bay

We heard it was in Mermaid Quay. The chap fell between his boat and the pontoon and wasn't found for 30 minutes.
We were in Cardiff Yacht Club at the time and saw the helicopter flying overhead for at least 25 minutes. Not a word on the news yesterday which is strange, it happened Sunday evening !

Oooh...what a tragedy. Having gone involuntarily swimming off the club pontoons once, I know it's virtually impossible to get out unless there is a safety ladder or willing pairs of hands nearby. And in the dark as well. It could happen to any of us at any time. Milford Marina put up H&S signs suggesting pontoon users wear lifejackets at all times following a near-miss there about a year or so back.

I have been told it was a solicitor from Barry or Penarth. Aparantly there was no water in his lungs...

There are too many rumours about this.
