Farewell from Simonjk weatherman? Signature too commercial?

Well despite the post from photodog I will give another vote of support for Simon.
And thanks you for your informative and interesting posts in the past! Met is one of the subjects I always feel inadequate about! (Perhaps I should book myself on one of your courses!)

I hope the YBW management change their minds about the whole business.

Jeez what do we have to change our mind about!!!!

I feel we are getting a lot of unnecessary abuse today and if it continues I shall report it to the mods..

I will say that i rarely look at the forecasts linked to by Simon, whilst the quality may be high, I can get the information I need for free without sitting through a five minute video....

I would be much much happier if Simon were to post a synopsis for us of his forecast here, with more information available via a link.

I'd tend to agree with this. Although, no two-tone perception disease here, please, this doesn't mean I want him banned from posting.

Well, I am pleased to note that a sensible outcome has been achieved :)
I certainly value Simon's posts & would have been less than impressed to see him forced out, good result.

As for his actual forecasts: I am not at all happy with their content & would like to see nice steady 14 knot winds & full sun please ;)

Whoa - sorry if I didn't read every post. I just read post after post supporting Simon and the last post from photodog. If the problem as originally alleged has been sorted out, my apologies for sticking my oar in unnecessarily.

My concern of late has been that Simon has not actually been posting his weather forecasts here on this forum.... But instead simply putting a notification in the forum that a new forecast is available, and then putting a link into his website.

So what is wrong with that?

Nobody is forced to click on his link.

I far prefer that use (or mis-use if you prefer) of the Forum than the 'e bay' links so often proffered.

Hi all,

I think we can safely say that the issue was rapidly (and within minutes) resolved by Laura.

Thanks for all your support guys.

I'm here to stay!

I should add as well that YBW have been long-term supporters of what I do. We do have these occasional 'hiccups' but then when this thread gets issued again the problem tends to rapidly go away.

However, I don't think it is a bad thing for the users of the forum to state that they still want me to post; this proves that what I am doing is still needed and gives a reference point for YBW.

I do try to post as much as I can and to give you the heads-up when things are happening. I tend to post more 'musings' in the winter as it's then when most of you will have the time to sit and read what I am wittering on about. I also respond to others postings about the weather.

The weekend forecast fits around other work here and, as you know, it's been a rather eventful summer so far and time has simply run out. But I do try to get the forecast to you 9 times out of 10. Sometimes I simply forget to post to the forum, although those receiving the forecast by email (again completely free) will get it.

If there is anything I can do to improve what I post (sorry I can't change the weather!) then let me know.

I'm also ALWAYS happy to answer any weather questions you have, just post them to the forum and (just in case I haven't noticed the thread) PM me too.

And to reiterate, I'd be more than happy to look after a YBW 'weather page' ;)

Thanks again all,
Simon
